The Credit Thing is a UK-based company offering instant credit via a virtual Mastercard.
They are currently offering new UK users a free £10 when they are referred, sign up, take a selfie, link a bank account, make a £0.10 verification deposit and get approved for credit.
How it works
The Credit Thing is an app-based virtual Mastercard provider that is authorized and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. You can add money to your virtual card and use it as a debit card, or you can apply for credit and use it like a credit card. You get virtual card details that you can add to Google Pay/Apple Pay for your usual spending. You can also order a card if you wish.
Steps to get your free £10:
1. Download the app using the green Get Deal button
2. Enter your details
3. Take a selfie picture to secure your account
4. Link a bank account and make a £0.10 deposit. Make sure you deposit £0.10 (10p) and not 1p like the app suggests
5. Wait to be approved for credit (and sign the agreement, this took a couple of minutes)
6. Receive your £10 to your account as soon as you are approved and have made a 10p deposit. This took another couple of minutes for me.
7. You can then spend your bonus such as topping up your Amazon account by £10.
Note: The Credit Thing will do a `soft search` on your credit history when you apply. If accepted, they will perform a hard credit search.
